You can request deletion of your Divvy account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to make the request and exactly what happens to your data.
Tip: If you no longer have access to that email account, contact us from any address and include your Divvy username — we will use additional questions to verify ownership before deleting.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Account information (name, email address, profile photo) |
Permanently deleted. |
| Friend connections and group memberships | Permanently deleted. |
| Receipt photos you uploaded | Permanently deleted from storage. |
| Shared expense records (bills you split with other users) |
Retained in anonymized form — your name and identifiers are removed, but the amounts remain so that other users' balances stay correct. Anonymized records can no longer be linked to you. |
Deletion is completed within 30 days of a verified request. No additional retention period applies beyond the anonymized shared-expense records described above, which are kept indefinitely because they no longer contain personal data.
You can also request deletion of specific data — for example, receipt photos you've uploaded — without deleting your whole account. Email the same address with a description of what you'd like removed, from the Google account email you use to sign in, and we'll action it within 30 days.
